STATE OF MARYLAND, HARFORD COUNTY, TO WIT:

The State of Maryland vs.  DANIEL E. GOSNELL

IN THE CIRCUIT COURT FOR HARFORD COUNTY

CRIMINAL INFORMATION

The above entitled case having been referred to Emmet C. Davitt, the Maryland State Prosecutor, and the State Prosecutor having considered the said case, and being duly authorized by law, now comes into the said Court and for and on behalf of the State of Maryland gives the Court here to understand and be informed that  DANIEL E. GOSNELL, from February of 2016 through on or about August 2, 2017 in the County aforesaid, unlawfully and corruptly in violation and perversion of his duties as a duly sworn Police Officer with the Aberdeen Police Department, to uphold, enforce and obey the laws of the State of Maryland, did commit misconduct in office by knowingly, willfully and intentionally, under the color of his office, repeatedly stealing and consuming various controlled dangerous substances, to wit: Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Heroin, Fetanyl, and Cocaine, from both the Aberdeen Police Department prescription drop box and from the police department CDS evidence vault, in violation of the common law and against the peace, government and dignity of the State.

COUNT TWO

AND, the State Prosecutor aforesaid, with power and authority as aforesaid, gives the Court here to understand and be informed further that DANIEL E. GOSNELL, on or about August 9, 2017, in the county aforesaid, unlawfully did possess a controlled dangerous substance of Schedule I, to wit Heroin, in violation of the Annotated Code of Maryland, Section 5-601, and against the peace, government and dignity of the State.
