Former State Police Veteran Joins State Prosecutor’s Office

State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt announced today that Thomas G. McElroy, a 26 year veteran of the Maryland State Police, has joined the Office of the State Prosecutor.

Immediately prior to retiring from the State Police last year, McElroy served as Assistant Commander of the Police Communications Support Division. Prior to that assignment, McElroy worked as a criminal section barrack commander.  His previous experience also included being a supervisor in the Maryland State Police Drug Enforcement Division as well as the supervision of a DEA Task Force during which his duties included coordinating investigations with various state and federal regulatory agencies.

“Tom McElroy will be a great addition to our Office.  He has a tremendous amount of experience supervising and investigating complex criminal matters at both the state and federal level and is highly respected throughout the law enforcement community.  We are fortunate to have such an experienced and high caliber criminal investigator join our team”, State Prosecutor Emmet Davitt said.
